Prof. Dr. Prayoga Bestari, M.Si. is a professor in the Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKn) Study Program at the Faculty of Social Sciences Education (FPIPS), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), with research interests encompassing Civic Education, Human Rights, and the intersections of politics, state, and public policy. His academic work focuses on critically analyzing how civic education can be a transformative tool to strengthen democratic governance, protect human rights, and inform public policy discourse in Indonesia and beyond. He is devoted to developing civic learning models that integrate political literacy and human rights awareness, fostering students’ capacities to become active, responsible citizens capable of engaging constructively with political processes and advocating for social justice. Alongside teaching and supervising at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, he consistently contributes to scholarly publications, policy research, and community empowerment initiatives that bridge theory and practice in the realm of civic and political education.
