
The Tourism Marketing Management (MPP) Study Program at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) continues to strengthen the synergy between academia and local government through a Research Exposé in collaboration with the Regional Development, Research, and Innovation Agency (Bapperida) of Bandung Regency.
This research, entitled “Study on the Potential of Regional Revenue from the Tourism Sector and the Analysis of Multiplier Effects for Local Communities,” represents UPI’s strategic effort to contribute research-based insights to regional development, particularly in promoting sustainable tourism.
The exposé was attended by the UPI research team consisting of Taufik Abdullah, Ph.D, Heri Puspito Diyah Setiyorini, Ph.D, Yeni Yuniawati, M.M, and Rijal Khaerani, M.Stat. The event also featured the presence of Prof. Cecep Darmawan, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Education (FPIPS) UPI, who expressed his full support and appreciation for this collaborative initiative.
The UPI delegation was warmly welcomed by Mr. H. Marlan, S.IP., M.Si, Head of Bapperida Bandung Regency, along with his staff. In his remarks, he expressed gratitude for UPI’s academic contribution, emphasizing that the findings from this research would serve as a valuable foundation for formulating strategic policies to optimize local revenue from the tourism sector and enhance community welfare through tourism’s multiplier effects.
This collaboration is closely aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. Through this initiative, UPI and Bapperida aim to promote inclusive and sustainable economic development while ensuring that local communities benefit equitably from tourism growth.
