
Tangerang City, May 14, 2025 - The Tangerang City Junior High School Pancasila Education Teacher Council (MGMP) successfully held a one-day seminar entitled “Deep Learning” on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at the SMPN 13 Hall in Tangerang City. This activity aims to encourage the implementation of a deep learning approach in learning Pancasila Education in order to realize a quality and transformative education system. The seminar presented Dr. Susan Fitriasari, M.Pd., as the main speaker, who also serves as Secretary of the Integrated Study Program for S1, S2, and S3 Pancasila and Citizenship Education, University of Education Indonesia (UPI). In her presentation, Dr. Susan emphasized the importance of shifting learning from mere memorization to a critical, reflective, and moral values-based thinking process and nationality.
“Deep learning encourages students to not only know, but understand deeply and be able to apply the values of Pancasila in real life, especially in the digital era full of ethical and social challenges,” Dr. Susan said in her session. The event was opened by Muhammad, S.Pd., M.Pd. as the Head of the Studio, and welcomed by Badru Tamam, S.Ag., the Head of MGMP PPKn SMP Tangerang City. The seminar moderator was Ida Fitriani, S.Pd., who helped build a participatory and reflective discussion atmosphere among the participants.
More than 100 Pancasila Education teachers from various junior high schools in Tangerang City actively participated in this activity. This seminar also opened a space for discussion on strategies for implementing deep learning in the independent curriculum and the challenges of evaluating project-based learning and reflection. By organizing this seminar, MGMP PPKn SMP Tangerang City shows a strong commitment in improving teachers' pedagogical competence and encouraging value-based learning innovations. The participants appreciated the material presented and expressed the hope that similar activities can continue to be held on an ongoing basis.
