Suka Prayanta Pandia Reveals: Work Satisfaction and Supervision Key to LecturerSuccess, Not Salary, in Bandung

His recents study conducted at four private institutions in Bandung revealed that work
motivation is the most significant element in enhancing instructor performance, exceeding the
impact of education and job happiness. The study, which questioned 102 lecturers, revealed
that although age, educational attainment, and tenure exert favorable influences, their impacts
are insignificant relative to the influence of motivation.
The study reveals that pecuniary perceptions, commonly regarded as significant, really exert a
negative or minimal impact on teaching performance. Conversely, elements such as the sense
of supervision and work satisfaction exert a more substantial influence on lecturers' classroom
performance.
The findings indicate that university administrators aiming to improve educational quality should
prioritize cultivating inspiring settings and providing supporting monitoring instead of depending
exclusively on financial incentives. The rapid expansion of private colleges in Bandung may
transform recruitment and retention strategies, emphasizing intrinsic motivators and professional
development rather than conventional compensation-based methods.
This research challenges established notions on the factors influencing academic performance
and provides a framework for schools seeking to enhance their teaching standards in a
progressively competitive higher education environment.
