Lintang, a student from the Tourism Marketing Management Program, successfully published
an article in Scopus Q1 journal. Her research focused on Benda Kerep, a traditional village in
Cirebon known for its strong cultural values and limited exposure to smart tourism despite its
growing popularity during cultural events like Muludan.
The research began from Lintang’s personal interest, which was later supported by her
lecturer, Mr. Taufik. Under the supervision of Mr. Taufik, she began writing the article in
early 2023 and submitted it to the Heritage Tourism journal in September 2024. After going
through four rounds of revision, the article was officially published in June 2025.
Behind this achievement lies a deeply emotional story. Lintang completed parts of her
revision while taking care of her ailing father, who passed away in October 2024. As a
tribute, she included a photo of him in the paper.
Lintang shared a message for others: “Everyone has their own timeline. There’s no need to
rush.” She hopes her journey can inspire fellow students to keep believing in themselves and
trust the process.
