As part of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, the Tourism Marketing Management Study Program at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia conducted a community service activity integrated with faculty research in two village tourism destinations: Mekarmaju Village (Pasirjambu District) and Baros Village (Arjasari District), Bandung Regency. The activity was led by Mr. Suka Prayanta Pandia, S.Pd., M.PFis., who also served as the main speaker delivering a session on Regenerative Tourism.
Both events followed a similar structure, beginning with a presentation on the concept of regenerative tourism, followed by group discussions. These forums involved active participation from local communities, students, and academic staff to explore the potential for implementing tourism practices that go beyond sustainability focusing on restoration, revitalization, and long-term community well-being.
Through this participatory approach, students acted as facilitators and data collectors to support the qualitative research process. The outcomes of these activities are expected to contribute meaningfully to the development of regenerative tourism models in rural destinations while strengthening collaboration between academia and the local community.
