Communication Studies Students Secure Double National Victories, Championing Sustainable Education

BANDUNG – The Communication Studies Study Programme has once again demonstrated academic excellence on the national stage. In a remarkable feat this November 2025, students from the programme secured 2nd Place in two prestigious national Public Relations competitions, underscoring the university’s commitment to fostering high-quality talent.

The double victory was achieved at the IMPRESS: Youth Public Relations Competition & Gathering 2025, hosted by the Vocational School of IPB University, and the Happenic PR Campaign Competition, organized by Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA).

Representing the Communication Studies Study Programme Class of 2024, the accolades were brought home by two dedicated teams. At the IMPRESS competition, the "3 Menara UPI" team comprising Ratu Salis Fambayun, Fatih Rizki Imani, and Hanum Haiyun Zahirah impressed the judges with their strategic prowess. Meanwhile, at the Happenic competition, the university was represented by Syareefa Alaya Putri Kusnoto, Fatih Rizki Imani, and Aulia Pusparini.

Reflecting on the intense journey, Ratu Salis Fambayun shared the emotional challenges the team faced as newcomers to the competitive arena.

"I was extremely nervous during the preparation. There was a moment of self-doubt since this was our first competition," Ratu admitted. "However, everything feels incredibly worth it now. My message to my peers is: do not be easily satisfied, so that we can all continue to develop and grow further."

Beyond the trophies, these achievements highlight a deeper commitment within the Communication Studies Study Programme to align academic pursuits with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education. By applying research-based public relations strategies and fostering inter-university collaboration, these students are actively contributing to the creation of innovative, sustainability-oriented education.

This success stands as a testament to the creativity and critical thinking skills fostered at UPI, serving as an inspiration for the younger generation to continue contributing to sustainable development through the field of communication.
