Legal Awareness Safari Expedition: Preserving Historical Heritage, Strengthening Education, and Protecting the Environment in Banda Neira: MAPACH PPKn UPI Students Conduct Academic Visit to UIN A.M. Sangadji Ambon

Ambon, July 2025 — Students from MAPACH (Mahasiswa Pencinta Alam Civics Hukum), a student activity unit under the Civic Education Study Program (PPKn) of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), conducted the 'Legal Awareness Safari Expedition' with a noble mission: to preserve historical heritage, strengthen education, and protect the environment in the Banda Neira region, Maluku.

The expedition began with an academic visit to Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) A.M. Sangadji Ambon. The delegation was formally received by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs (Vice Rector III) and warmly welcomed by the academic community. In a spirit of intellectual dialogue and camaraderie, both institutions engaged in discussions on strategic issues in civic education, legal awareness, and potential future collaborations.

Through this visit, MAPACH students expanded their academic horizons and established meaningful networks with fellow scholars in Eastern Indonesia. The discussions focused on the vital role of students in promoting legal awareness, preserving historical sites in Banda Neira, and developing character education rooted in environmental and local cultural values.

Dr. Syaifullah, M.Si., Head of the Civic Education Program at UPI, expressed his appreciation for the students' enthusiasm and commitment to integrating civic education values with real-world community engagement. “This expedition exemplifies transformative and reflective civic education. Our students are not just learning in classrooms but actively contributing to society,” he stated.

MAPACH, as part of the Civic Hukum Student Association (HMCH), continues to demonstrate its existence as a driving force of change grounded in national values, environmental stewardship, and legal consciousness.

This initiative marks a significant milestone in building inter-university collaboration and reaffirming the commitment of UPI’s Civic Education students to safeguarding the nation's identity through collaborative and educational actions across regions.
