
Taufik Abdullah, Ph.D., a lecturer in Tourism Marketing Management (MPP) at the Indonesia University of Education (UPI) who also serves as the Head of the Study Program, served as a speaker at a teacher competency-building event held at Ashfia Primary School.
The event was themed “Teacher Competency Development” with the tagline “Building Teacher Competency through a Culture of Excellence and Quality Educational Services.”
The event aimed to improve the quality of educators by strengthening their competencies, particularly in fostering a professional work culture focused on delivering optimal educational services. During his presentation, Taufik Abdullah, Ph.D., delivered a talk focusing on the importance of service and hospitality in education as part of efforts to improve the quality of service provided to students.
Through this event, teachers gained new insights into how to create an excellent work environment and provide quality educational services. This not only enhances teachers’ professionalism but also improves the quality of the learning process for students.
The event was conducted interactively, featuring discussions between the presenter and participants that addressed various challenges in the field of education as well as strategies to improve the effectiveness of teachers’ performance. The participants’ enthusiasm was evident through their active engagement throughout the session.
This teacher professional development initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, which emphasizes the importance of improving the quality of educators as one of the key factors in creating an inclusive and high-quality education system. Through initiatives like this, it is hoped that educators will be able to continue adapting and improving their skills to meet the educational challenges of the future.
