Focus Group Discussion on Tourism Studies in Bandung Regency at Baperrida (August 22, 2025)

On August 22, 2025, the Tourism Marketing Management Study Program played an active role in the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on Bandung Regency Tourism Study organized by the Regional Development Planning, Research, and Innovation Agency (Baperrida). This FGD brought together academics, practitioners, local government officials, and other stakeholders to discuss strategies for sustainable tourism development.

Tourism Marketing Management lecturers provided input on destination marketing strategies, strengthening tourism human resource capacity, and integrating digital technology in regional tourism promotion. The discussion was interactive, highlighting the importance of cross-sector collaboration so that tourism in Bandung Regency can develop more competitively without neglecting environmental and social aspects.

The involvement of the MPP Study Program in this FGD affirms the role of higher education in supporting regional development policies. This is in line with SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), which promotes inclusive economic growth through tourism, and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), which emphasizes the importance of sustainable tourism as part of urban and rural development. With this study, it is hoped that Bandung will be able to offer tourism that not only attracts tourists but also empowers local communities in a sustainable manner.
