
Bandung, September 17, 2025 – The Civics Law Student Association (HMCH) of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) held Diksitalk 1 as an academic discussion forum that served as a platform for public enlightenment. The event took place in Room 30 of the Faculty of Social Science Education (FPIPS) UPI, featuring keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Cecep Darmawan, S.H., S.I.P., S.A.P., S.Pd., M.Si., M.H., CPM., a political communication expert and UPI academic.
In this session, Prof. Cecep addressed the current issue of police repressive actions toward society. The discussion explored legal and political dimensions, as well as their relation to the principles of democracy and human rights. Furthermore, the dialogue emphasized the mandate of the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution, which affirms the state’s duty to protect all the people of Indonesia and the entire homeland.
Diksitalk 1 reflected HMCH UPI’s strong commitment to fostering a culture of critical dialogue while raising legal and political awareness among students. Through this forum, students are encouraged to voice their ideas, be more responsive to national issues, and contribute as agents of change who uphold justice and democracy.
The Chairperson of HMCH UPI stated that Diksitalk will become a sustainable program featuring experts from various fields. This initiative aims to broaden students’ civic and legal perspectives while strengthening their intellectual capacity to make meaningful contributions to society and the nation.
