Bandung, November 11, 2025 - The World Muslim Scout Jamboree is an international jamboree initiated by Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor, held on September 9-14, 2025. The event was attended by more than 15,000 participants consisting of Indonesian and international scouts. There were 18 countries participating in this event, including Saudi Arabia, Maldives, Oman, Malaysia, Algeria, Brunei Darussalam, and others.
The activities carried out at the Cibubur Campground carried the theme of Civilized, United, and Peaceful, bringing hopes of peace and unity among Muslim scouts around the world. In addition, this jamboree was the first Muslim jamboree to be hosted by Indonesia. The event was attended by important figures and famous Indonesian musicians, including Iwan Fals, Alfi Revv, Fatin Shidqia Lubis, and Wali Band, who helped entertain the crowd.
This event is not only a celebration of Muslim scouts around the world, but also supports the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) launched by the United Nations. In line with its theme, this activity focuses on SDG number 16, namely Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions. This event is expected to bring a message of peace to fellow Muslim scouts around the world and promote cooperation between participating countries. It also serves as a stage for the organizers, especially the santri (Islamic boarding school students), to show that they can be initiators and realize resilient institutions under the auspices of Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor.
In this historic moment, one of the Tourism Marketing Management students had the opportunity to become one of the Liaison Officers for Saudi Arabia. The division is directly under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and has undergone several training courses to prepare the committee. During the execution of his duties, he did not fail to practice the discipline he had been taught during lectures, namely the 4G culture (Greeting, Grooming, Gesture, and Global Ethics). This application was recognized as being very relevant to the tasks entrusted to him, especially as it aimed to provide hospitality and satisfaction to foreign participants visiting Indonesia.
This activity also provided an opportunity for students to promote Indonesian culture, language, and tourism. Moreover, students were indirectly involved in handling the arrival and departure of international guests. The event is expected to serve as a platform for students to actively participate in international activities and grow within the tourism and hospitality industry.
