BANDUNG – Another achievement has emerged from the extended family of the Catering Industry Management (MIK) Study Program. Negel Sigit, a graduate of the 2020 cohort from Bangka Belitung, has successfully passed a rigorous national selection process and been chosen to participate in one prestigious youth exchange program: the Australia-Indonesia Youth Exchange Program (AIYEP) and The Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program (SSEAYP) 2025. These programs are organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia.

Negel has the opportunity to travel to Japan to carry out a series of cultural exchange activities, youth policy discussions, and community service projects as an Indonesian Youth Ambassador.

An Achievement from Bangka Belitung, Spreading the Spirit of Archipelagic Cuisine
As a native son of Bangka Belitung, Negel's success in this highly competitive selection is a source of pride not only for his alma mater but also for his home province. The national selection for the AIYEP and SSEAYP programs is notoriously competitive, involving thousands of top youths from across Indonesia assessed on academic ability, social skills, leadership, national insight, and tangible community contributions
Appreciation from the Alma Mater
The MIK Study Program warmly welcomed this achievement. Dr. Woro Priatini, S.Pd., M.Si, Head of the MIK Study Program, stated that Negel's success proves that MIK graduates are not only competent in the catering industry but also possess the capacity and resilient character to compete at national and international levels.
About the AIYEP and SSEAYP Programs
The Australia-Indonesia Youth Exchange Program (AIYEP) is a bilateral youth exchange program between Indonesia and Australia that has been running since 1981. It aims to deepen cultural understanding and build friendly relations between the youth of the two countries.
The Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program (SSEAYP) is a multilateral youth exchange program initiated by the Japanese government. Participants from ASEAN countries and Japan sail together, visit various countries, and engage in activities that foster friendship and international cooperation.

Negel Sigit's success in breaking into these prestigious programs is hoped to inspire other MIK students and Indonesian youth to continue to dare to compete, contribute, and bring honor to the nation on international forums. Congratulations and best wishes to Negel Sigit, Indonesian Youth Ambassador.
