Bandung, 11 February 2026 – Another outstanding achievement has been made by a student of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI). Muhammad Daffa, a student of the Catering Industry Management Study Program, class of 2022, has successfully brought honor to his alma mater by winning two championship titles simultaneously at the National Open Tournament of the Keluarga Silat Nasional Indonesia Perisai Diri "Satria Airlangga Cup X / 2026."

The championship, organized by the Perisai Diri Student Activity Unit (UKM) of Universitas Airlangga, took place in Surabaya on February 5-8, 2026. In this prestigious event, Daffa, a talented athlete from UPI's Perisai Diri Student Activity Unit, delivered an outstanding performance by winning 1st Place in the Men's Adult Solo Combined Techniques and 1st Place in the Men's Adult Team Combined Techniques.

This victory is a source of pride, not only for Daffa personally but also for the entire UPI contingent. Thanks to Daffa's contribution and the team's hard work, UPI's Perisai Diri Student Activity Unit successfully secured the title of 3rd Overall Winner in this national-level tournament.

This achievement proves that UPI students excel not only in academics, as Daffa pursues in Catering Industry Management, but are also capable of achieving excellence in sports and martial arts. It is hoped that this success will inspire other students to continue striving and bring honor to the nation.

According to the official certificates issued by the tournament committee, Muhammad Daffa secured 1st Place in the Men’s Adult Solospel Technique Combination category and 1st Place in the Men’s Adult Team Technique Combination category. These double gold medals demonstrate his excellent technical skills, discipline, and consistency in performing Perisai Diri movements at a highly competitive national event.

This achievement also contributed significantly to the overall performance of UKM Perisai Diri UPI Bandung, which succeeded in earning 3rd Overall Champion in the adult category. The result not only elevates the reputation of the Perisai Diri unit but also strengthens UPI Bandung’s position as a campus that supports holistic student development, combining academic excellence with achievements in sports and cultural activities.

The study program and faculty highly appreciate Muhammad Daffa’s dedication and hard work, as well as the support from coaches and UKM Perisai Diri UPI Bandung.
