Bandung, October 24, 2026 The Tourism Marketing Management Student Association (HIMA MPP) of the Indonesia University of Education (UPI) held the first day of the 2026 Basic Student Leadership Training (LDKM) on Saturday (10/24) at the Auditorium of the UPI Faculty of Social Sciences Education (FPIPS). This event is part of the Genesis Vol. 4 leadership development series aimed at freshmen in the Tourism Marketing Management program, class of 2026.
LDKM 2026 serves as an initial training ground for new students to learn about leadership principles, build a sense of responsibility, and develop communication and collaboration skills within an organizational setting. The event was attended by new students along with the organizing committee, student association officers, and faculty members.
The first day’s activities began with a presentation on court procedures delivered by M. Fahri Ubaidillah. This session was followed by a question-and-answer period that gave participants the opportunity to deepen their understanding of court mechanisms and the decision-making process within the organization.
Next, participants took part in the election of the presiding committee, which is responsible for overseeing the proceedings. New students also participated in a mock plenary session as a learning exercise before taking part in the actual proceedings on the second day.
Through this series of activities, participants gained an understanding of the rules of procedure, the flow of proceedings, the expression of opinions, and the importance of respecting others’ perspectives in the decision-making process. This learning experience equips new students to participate actively and responsibly in organizational life.
Gefa Fathir, Executive Chair of LDKM 2026, shared that this event brought him a range of experiences and emotions throughout the process.
“While participating in the event, I felt a mix of emotionshappiness, sadness, exhaustion, and many others. However, through it all, I gained valuable experiences and lessons that will be part of my journey as a college student,” said Gefa.
The implementation of LDKM 2026 is also aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 Quality Education through nonformal learning that supports the development of students’ skills, character, and leadership competencies. In addition, this activity also supports SDG 16 Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions by introducing an orderly, participatory, and rule-based decision-making process.
Through the first day of LDKM Genesis Vol. 4, new MPP UPI students are expected not only to understand the mechanisms of a hearing but also to begin cultivating critical thinking, discipline, and a sense of responsibility as preparation for the next stages of leadership training.
