Civics Study Program FPIPS UPI Conducts Second Monitoring of Dissertation Progress of Doctoral Program Students

Bandung, May 8, 2025 - The Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) Study Program of the Faculty of Social Science Education (FPIPS), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) again held the 2nd Monitoring of Dissertation Preparation Progress for Doctoral Program Students. This activity took place at the Civics Laboratory, 4th Floor FPIPS UPI on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 13.00 WIB. This meeting is a follow-up to the previous activity held on December 16, 2024, with the aim of monitoring the academic progress and quality of student dissertation preparation. This monitoring is an important part of the academic quality assurance system within the UPI Civics Doctoral Program.

Present in the activity were the leaders of integrated study programs (S1, S2, and S3), supervisors, and all doctoral program students who were preparing dissertations. Each student is given the opportunity to present the progress of their research, including the obstacles faced and the follow-up plan that will be carried out towards the proposal and final dissertation examination stage. The Head of the UPI Civics Doctoral Program, Dr. Syaifullah, M.Si., in his remarks said that this monitoring is not only a form of academic control, but also a means of building a scientific culture and academic communication between students and lecturers.

“We hope that this activity can help students to stay on the appropriate research path, and become a productive forum to get substantial input from supervisors and examiners,” he said. This activity is part of the commitment of the UPI Civics Study Program in supporting the smooth study of doctoral students so that they can complete their dissertations in a timely, quality, and contributive manner to the development of civic science.
