Culinary Achievement at La Cuisine Competition 2025: MIK Students Shine at International Cooking Contest

The Catering Industry Management (MIK) program at UPI (Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia) made an impressive showing at the prestigious La Cuisine International Cooking Competition 2025, held from November 12-15, 2025, at JIExpo, Kemayoran, Jakarta. This highly competitive event attracted culinary talents from around the world, and UPI’s MIK program sent 31 of its students to participate across 14 different categories.

The MIK students competed in a wide range of exciting culinary classes, showcasing their expertise in both traditional and modern dishes. The categories included Christmas Cookies, Chocolate Travel Cake, Junior Asian Beef Main Course, Mignardises, Traditional Jajanan Pasar, Sate Nusantara, Nasi Tumpeng, Hot Plated Dessert, Asian Curry and Rice, Modern Jajanan Pasar Plated Dessert, Plated Appetizer, Western Plated Dessert, Asian Laksa, and Fish Main Course.

The MIK program’s participants achieved exceptional results in the competition, with UPI students bringing home several prestigious medals:

  • 3 Gold Medals:
    • Nasi Tumpeng: Vincentia Intan Deivara Ardine and Najma Nadira
    • Asian Fish Main Course: Najwa Labibah
  • 4 Silver Medals:
    • Hot Plated Dessert: Nalita Sophia Friscila
    • Sate Nusantara: Azril Afifi
    • Traditional Jajanan Pasar: Anggana Reksa Gentala Bayu and Ananda Aulya Alhaifa
  • 12 Bronze Medals:
    • Christmas Cookies: Javani Priskila Perangin Angin
    • Chocolate Travel Cake: Diah Mayang Sekarsari
    • Traditional Jajanan Pasar: Andrea Qur’ani Maulana, Dian Pitriyani, Dhiandra Shalma Revina, Kinaya Aita Yukuri, Grazena Fa’ilatun Nafsiyyah, Diva Tasya Fatmala
    • Plated Appetizer: Mochamad Brian Faisal P. B
    • Modern Jajanan Pasar Plated Dessert: Lulu Auliya Nabilah

Additionally, 12 students received Diplomas for their participation, further showcasing the wide participation and high level of achievement by the MIK team.

Guidance and Support:
The students were guided by a team of dedicated faculty members, including Ilmiati Tsaniah, S.Par., MM.Par, Dias Pratami Putri, S.Pd., M.Si, Risya Ladiva Bridha, S.Par., MM.Par, Dr. Woro Priatini, S.Pd., M.Si, Defi Cicahyati, S.Par, and Chef Denny Setiawan, who provided invaluable mentorship and training leading up to the event. And also supported by 4 students as the official team Sulthan Khairuddin Rahman, Adli Amri Fauzy, Filky Putra Herawadi, Rakha Dhiyaul Haqqi for great assistance.

A Show of Support from UPI Leadership:
The event concluded with a visit from UPI’s Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Business, Prof. Dr. phil. Yudi Sukmayadi, M.Pd., along with Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Partnerships at FPIPS UPI, Dr. Bagja Waluya, M.Pd. Their presence on the final day of the competition gave a significant morale boost to the students competing on the last day, reinforcing UPI’s commitment to supporting its students in achieving excellence on the global stage.

This remarkable achievement highlights the talent and dedication of UPI’s Catering Industry Management students and underscores the program’s commitment to providing top-tier culinary education. The awards and recognition received in La Cuisine 2025 serve as a testament to the hard work and passion of both the students and their commitment to excellence and innovation in the culinary arts.
