BANDUNG - The Communication Studies Study Programme continues to demonstrate its creative and academic excellence through remarkable student achievements in regional competitions. In July 2026, two outstanding students, T.A. Santoso and Farell Caleb Triana, brought honor to the institution by securing top awards in digital media creation and documentary photography.
T.A. Santoso Claims 3rd Place in Bank Indonesia’s CBP Rupiah 2026
T.A. Santoso, a senior student from the 2022 cohort, earned 3rd Place in the Content Creator Competition for the CBP Rupiah 2026 (Cinta, Bangga, Paham Rupiah), organized by Bank Indonesia Representative Office of West Java on July 15, 2026.
The competition challenged young content creators to formulate engaging visual narratives that promote financial literacy, national pride, and economic awareness through digital storytelling. Santoso’s entry stood out for its compelling narrative structure, sharp visual editing, and clear messaging skills honed throughout his journey in the Communication Studies program.
"This award reflects the power of strategic communication in disseminating public education message like financial literacy," Santoso remarked, highlighting how media content can bridges institutional objectives with public interest.
Farell Caleb Triana Wins 1st Place in Peksimida Jabar 2026, Advances to Peksiminas
Adding to the program's accolades, Farell Caleb Triana, a talented sophomore from the 2024 cohort, snatched 1st Place at the prestigious Peksimida (Pekan Seni Mahasiswa Daerah) West Java 2026 in the Documentary Photography category.
Through a poignant visual series capturing human-interest stories, Farell impressed the panel of judges with his technical mastery, artistic vision, and deep ethical storytelling. Following this victory, Farell will represent Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia at the national level during the Peksiminas (Pekan Seni Mahasiswa Nasional) 2026.
"Documentary photography is about capturing truth with empathy," said Farell. "Representing UPI at the national stage is both an honor and a responsibility to bring critical social stories to a broader audience."
