Bandung, December 17, 2025 — The Research and Development (RND) Division of the Student Association of Tourism Marketing Management (HIMA MPP) organized the SPECTRA Scientific Forum 2025 under the theme “Sustainable Perspectives, Critical Thinking, and Responsible Actions.” The forum was attended by active students of the Tourism Marketing Management Study Program from the 2022–2025 cohorts and served as an academic platform to deepen students’ understanding of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the context of Indonesian tourism.
The forum addressed the central issue of “Why Indonesia Has Not Fully Achieved All 17 SDGs,” aiming to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world implementation through interactive dialogue involving students, academics, and tourism practitioners. The session began with a keynote presentation by Heri Puspito Diyah Setiyorini, M.M., Ph.D., a lecturer in Tourism Marketing Management, who explained the relevance of the 17 SDGs to tourism development from an academic perspective. The discussion was then enriched by Sukmayadi, S.H. from POKDARWIS, who shared practical experiences and challenges in implementing SDGs within the tourism sector of West Bandung Regency.
Following the presentations, participants took part in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Students were divided into six groups to analyze barriers to achieving the SDGs in Indonesia, propose potential solutions, and assess their applicability. The results were presented and discussed with the speakers. The forum concluded with an appreciation session and the awarding of certificates to the speakers. This activity is expected to contribute critical insights toward the development of sustainable tourism in Indonesia.
