“To Broaden the Organization’s Horizons, HIMAMPP UPI Holds a Comparative Study with HIMABIS UNPAD”

Jatinangor,June 20, 2026 - The Tourism Marketing Management Student Association (HIMAMPP) at the Indonesia University of Education (UPI) held a benchmarking study with the Business Administration Student Association (HIMABIS) of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Padjadjaran University (FISIP UNPAD) on Saturday, June 20, 2026. The event, held at FISIP UNPAD, was attended by 83 participants from HIMAMPP, including the Executive Board (DPH), division heads, department heads, and members from various divisions. Meanwhile, the event also involved nearly all members of HIMABIS UNPAD.

This benchmarking study was motivated by the recognition that student associations serve as platforms for students to grow, learn, and collaborate in developing their potential. In striving to achieve organizational goals, innovation in organizational management and program implementation is a key factor in improving performance, creating new opportunities, and developing members’ skills.

The event’s chairperson, Fatimah Az-Zahra, explained that HIMAMPP recognizes the importance of innovation in ensuring the organization’s sustainability and improving the effectiveness of its programs. According to her, innovation can generate fresh ideas that not only drive program success but also increase members’ active engagement in the organization.

As one of the strategic steps to achieve this goal, HIMAMPP designed a Comparative Study program as a means to broaden perspectives while fostering closer ties with external organizations. Through this activity, both associations had the opportunity to exchange ideas, share experiences, and explore opportunities for fruitful future collaboration.

During the event, participants took part in various comparative activities between divisions through discussion forums, organizational introduction sessions, and joint documentation. These activities provided a space for both associations to exchange information, compare organizational work systems, and strengthen relationships among students from different academic backgrounds.

This comparative study aimed to gain insights, references, and best practices in the professional management of student organizations by learning from HIMABIS FISIP UNPAD. The various aspects studied included the management of work programs, systems for disseminating information and reporting organizational achievements, the implementation of transparency and accountability, member capacity building, strategies for increasing member engagement and well-being, and the implementation of a professional and collaborative work culture. In addition, participants also learned about the development of innovative work programs and sustainable organizational evaluation systems to improve the quality of organizational performance.

Fatimah Az-Zahra expressed her gratitude and joy at the successful hosting of this event. Although there were some challenges during the preparation process, the entire series of events went smoothly and left a positive impression on the participants. She also appreciated the enthusiasm of HIMABIS UNPAD, which had supported the event from the planning stage through to its implementation. The warm welcome extended by HIMABIS was a valuable experience that further reinforced the significance of collaboration in this event.

Through this benchmarking study, HIMAMPP UPI hopes that the outcomes of the discussions and lessons learned can serve as a reference for developing more effective, adaptive, and student-centered organizational management. This activity is also expected to strengthen networks among student organizations and encourage sustainable innovation in organizational management.

The comparative study between HIMAMPP UPI and HIMABIS UNPAD aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education through collaborative learning processes and the exchange of knowledge among students. Furthermore, this activity supports SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by strengthening cooperation among student organizations to foster innovation, enhance human resource capacity, and build sustainable relationships for mutual progress.
