Bangkok, May 2025 – The Civic Education Study Program of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), along with several partner universities, participated in a collaborative dialogue with the principal and teachers of Sekolah Indonesia Bangkok (SIB). The visit focused on strengthening partnerships and sharing strategies for career development and professional growth in the teaching profession.

One of the key highlights of the discussion was the exchange of ideas on teacher career pathways, teacher certification processes, and the challenges and opportunities faced by educators in Indonesian schools abroad. The dialogue provided valuable insights into how SIB supports its teachers professionally while nurturing a strong sense of national identity among students.

The session was made even more meaningful with the presence of Mr. Soleh, a proud alumnus of the Civic Education Program at UPI (Class of 1995), who is currently serving as a dedicated teacher at SIB Bangkok. His journey and commitment to education were recognized as a source of inspiration for the visiting students and faculty. Mr. Soleh shared his personal experiences working in an international setting and the importance of maintaining cultural values and civic responsibility in a global environment.

Dr. Syaifullah, M.Si., Associate Professor of Civic Education at UPI, emphasized that alumni contributions are a vital part of the university’s mission to develop educators who make a global impact. He also highlighted that such international collaborations are essential for expanding educational perspectives and strengthening UPI’s global network.

The event concluded with a mutual commitment to continued collaboration in promoting quality civic education and professional development among Indonesian educators worldwide.
