UPI Civics Education Students, Alumni, and Lecturers Participate in ACQUIN International Accreditation Visit

Bandung, July 1st, 2025 – The Pancasila and Civics Education (PPKn) Study Program, Faculty of Social Science Education (FPIPS), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), reaffirmed its commitment to global competitiveness by participating in the international accreditation visit by ACQUIN (Accreditation, Certification and Quality Assurance Institute) held on June 30 to July 1, 2025.

The two-day accreditation process involved direct assessment by ACQUIN's international assessors and active participation from students, alumni, graduate users, and lecturers.

Head of the PPKn Study Program, Dr. Syaifullah, M.Si, emphasized that the visitation served as a strategic moment to showcase the unique identity and academic strength of the program. “The uniqueness of PPKn UPI lies in its interdisciplinary approach that integrates political science, law, education, and national values. We nurture graduates who are not only academically competent but also deeply rooted in Pancasila values and capable of becoming responsible global citizens,” he stated.

Dr. Syaifullah also highlighted the program’s continuous efforts to expand its global academic engagement through activities such as international research collaborations, student and faculty exchanges, joint seminars with overseas partner universities, and participation in international civic education forums. “We are committed to ensuring that civic education in Indonesia gains global visibility while maintaining its national character,” he added.

Students took part by sharing their learning experiences, involvement in campus organizations, and participation in the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program. Alumni also provided valuable testimonies regarding the relevance of civic education knowledge to their careers in education, governance, and the social sector.

The ACQUIN visitation is a strategic step in advancing the internationalization of UPI’s Civics Education program, strengthening its role as a center of excellence in civic education in Southeast Asia.
