UPI’s D4 SPIG Students Visit Pushidrosal

Jakarta, July 22, 2025 — A total of 58 students from the D4 Mapping Survey and Geographic Information (SPIG) Study Program, Faculty of Social Science Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), conducted an academic visit to the Hydro-Oceanographic Center of the Indonesian Navy (Pushidrosal) in Jakarta. Accompanied by two supervising lecturers, the visit aimed to broaden students’ understanding of marine surveying, mapping, and the application of hydro-oceanographic data in both defense and national development.

The visit commenced at 08.45 WIB with registration and a warm welcome by Pushidrosal representatives. The opening remarks were delivered by a senior official of Pushidrosal, followed by a speech from one of the UPI lecturers. A token exchange and group photo session symbolized the spirit of collaboration between academia and the military sector.

The students then attended a presentation on Pushidrosal’s institutional profile by Mr. Candrasa Surya Dharma, S.Si., M.Si., which offered valuable insights into the center’s roles and functions in national marine mapping, nautical chart production, hydro-oceanographic surveying, and marine technology development.

Following a Q&A session and prayer, students embarked on a guided tour of key technical units at Pushidrosal, including:

1. Dispeta (Mapping Division), guided by Navy Second Lieutenant (KH) Mirza Rizal Afani, S.Si.

2. Disosemet (Oceanography and Meteorology Division), guided by Navy Second Lieutenant (KH) Dhimas Prabu Pratama, S.Si.

3. Dishidro (Hydrography Division), guided by Navy Second Lieutenant (KH) Theo Deardoanta Purba, S.Si.
