Webinar on Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Education in West Java: A Collaborative Initiative between BP2D West Java and Civic Education Program UPI

Bandung, May 9, 2025 – In celebration of National Education Day, the Regional Development Planning Agency (BP2D) of West Java Province, in collaboration with the Civic Education Study Program of FPIPS UPI, successfully organized a webinar titled "Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Education Quality in West Java."
This event was implemented by the Communication Forum of Integrated Master's and Doctoral Students of Civic Education, FPIPS UPI, as part of their academic and civic responsibility to address the future challenges of education in the digital era.
The webinar featured distinguished speakers, including:
- Ismail Fahmi, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., Founder of Drone Emprit
- Prof. Dr. Karim Suryadi, M.Si, Professor of Civic Education, FPIPS UPI
- Dedi Mulyadi, S.STP, M.Si, Head of Bappeda West Java Province
The event was officially opened with welcoming remarks from:
- Prof. Dr. Cecep Darmawan, M.Si., M.H., M.Pd., Dean of FPIPS UPI
- Dr. H.M. Taufik Budi Santoso, M.Sc., SE., Head of BP2D West Java
Moderated by Mulia Sari, S.Pd., a graduate student of the Civic Education Master's Program, the webinar explored the intersection between artificial intelligence and educational transformation in West Java, emphasizing digital ethics, equity, and educational policy implications.

The webinar was broadcast live via TVUPI Digital and attended by educators, students, and policymakers from across West Java. All participants received free e-certificates as a token of participation.
This collaboration represents a meaningful synergy between government and higher education institutions, highlighting the active role of Civic Education at UPI in advancing public discourse and shaping future-oriented educational strategies.
