The Communication Studies Program is meticulously designed to equip students with the essential knowledge and skills required to excel in the dynamic field of communication. The curriculum comprises a total of 147 credits, structured over eight semesters, ensuring a comprehensive educational experience that aligns with the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) and the National Standards for Higher Education (SN-Dikti).
The curriculum is designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of communication theories and the practical skills necessary for professional careers in Public Relations, Journalism, and Broadcasting. The curriculum spans 8 semesters and integrates theoretical knowledge with hands-on, project-based learning.
The curriculum is structured sequentially over eight semesters, beginning with foundational courses and progressing to specialized, advanced modules.
- Foundation (Semesters 1-4): The initial semesters build a strong academic foundation. Students are introduced to core concepts in Introduction to Social Science, Introduction to Communication Science, Communication Theories, and methodologies such as Statistics in Communication, Academic Writing, Quantitative Research Methods, and Qualitative Research Methodology. These courses aim to develop students' critical, systematic, and innovative thinking.
- Specialization (Semesters 5-7): From the fifth semester onwards, the curriculum branches into three distinct specialization streams: Public Relations, Journalism, and Broadcasting. Students undertake a series of specialized courses designed to provide in-depth knowledge and professional skills in their chosen field.
- Practical Application (Semester 8): The final semester is dedicated to practical field experience and the completion of an undergraduate thesis, allowing students to apply their accumulated knowledge and skills in a professional or research context.
The learning outcomes of the program are aligned with industry standards, ensuring that graduates possess proficiency in media literacy, digital communication, public relations management, and content creation. Assessment methods are diverse, incorporating projects, midterm and final examinations, and practical assessments to evaluate student performance comprehensively.
To maintain the relevance and quality of the curriculum, the program undergoes regular reviews based on feedback from students, faculty, and industry stakeholders. This commitment to continuous improvement reflects the program's dedication to academic excellence and its responsiveness to the evolving landscape of communication.
