Disaster and Environmental Sustainability Research Group (DESRG)

Research group focusing on disaster resilience and sustainable environmental management.

Description

Indonesia sebagai daerah rawan bencana membutuhkan kajian yang komprehensif tentang dinamika alam dan manusia, yang menimbulkan berbagai bencana. Eksploitasi sumber daya untuk menyuplai kebutuhan dan pembangunan seringkali menimbulkan kerusakan lingkungan dan bencana. Geografi melalui teknologi penginderaan jauh dan SIG memberikan solusi terhadap pemanfaatan lingkungan secara bertanggungjawab untuk mewujudkan pembangunan berkelanjutan dan ketahanan terhadap bencana.

Objective

Memberikan kajian secara komprehensif tentang mitigasi bencana, ketahanan bencana, dan pemanfaatan lingkungan secara bertanggungjawab untuk mewujudkan keberlanjutan lingkungan, termasuk pariwisata berkelanjutan dan pembangunan berkelanjutan.

GeoSCo: Geospatial Research and SDGs Collaboration Center

Interdisciplinary geospatial collaboration center supporting SDGs.

Description

The Geospatial Research and SDGs Collaboration Center focuses on advancing geospatial research to support Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). GeoSCo integrates GIS, spatial analysis, sustainability analytics, and collaborative geospatial science to support evidence-based planning and policy development across multiple regions and sectors.

GeoSCo berperan sebagai jembatan kolaborasi riset antara akademisi, lembaga pemerintah, dan mitra internasional dalam menghasilkan inovasi berbasis bukti spasial.

Objectives & Impact

  • Menghasilkan riset unggulan geospasial yang mendukung pencapaian SDGs.
  • Membangun jejaring riset internasional di bidang Geospatial and Sustainability.

Description

GeoSPACE is a research group focusing on social, cultural, and educational geography with an emphasis on the reciprocal relationship between humans, space, and the environment within socio-cultural contexts.

This research group integrates the utilization of spatial data, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, and spatial analysis to understand social and cultural patterns and dynamics across various regional scales.

Objective

To develop innovative research in social, cultural, and educational geography through contextual geospatial approaches that are locally grounded and responsive to global challenges.

Sustainable Natural Resources and Environment Management Research Group

Research group focusing on sustainable natural resources and environmental management.

Description

This research group focuses on the management of natural resources and the environment, particularly water resources, land resources, coastal and marine areas, and remote regions through watershed and river basin approaches.

Mapping technology, remote sensing, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are utilized for inventory, mapping, modeling, regional development implementation, and educational material development.

Objectives

  • Contribute actively to sustainable management and utilization of natural resources and the environment.
  • Support the development and updating of educational materials.

RSGIS Research Group

Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System for Urban and Environmental Research.

Description

RSGIS focuses on the utilization of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing technology to analyze urban and environmental dynamics sustainably, including land-use change, urbanization, environmental degradation, and sustainable urban development.

This research supports geospatial data-driven decision making for inclusive, resilient, and climate-adaptive urban development and environmental management.

Objective

To contribute to inclusive, resilient, and sustainable urban development through geospatial approaches. This research is designed to identify challenges and opportunities in urban area management, focusing on land use, environmental quality, transportation systems, and governance based on geospatial data and spatial analytics.
