Students from the Tourism Marketing Management Program at the Indonesia University of Education have once again achieved a notable accomplishment on the international stage through the publication of a scientific article in a reputable Scopus Q2 journal. This achievement serves as tangible evidence of UPI students’ contributions to the advancement of global knowledge and research in the fields of tourism, culture, and event management.
One such achievement was attained by Riza Nur Sya’ban through the publication of an article titled “Motivations and Collective Decision-Making in Islamic Pilgrimage Tourism: Insights from an Islamic Community Perspective” in the Journal of Tourism Analysis. This study examines the motivations and collective decision-making processes in Islamic religious tourism, while also providing insights for tourism managers and policymakers in creating more inclusive and community-based religious tourism experiences.
A similar achievement was also attained by Hana Kriscania Hartono, who successfully published a scientific article titled “Understanding Fan Motivation and Audience Experience in the Context of K-pop Concerts” in the International Journal of Event and Festival Management. The study examined fan motivation and audience experience at K-pop concerts, which have become a pop culture phenomenon with a significant impact on the global event and tourism industries.
The success of these two students reflects the academic quality and innovative spirit of UPI students in producing research relevant to the development of the modern tourism industry. Beyond being an academic achievement, this international publication also supports the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 on Quality Education through the enhancement of higher education quality and research culture, as well as SDG 9 on Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure through innovative contributions to the development of research-based tourism and event industries.
It is hoped that this achievement will inspire other students to continue creating, conducting impactful research, and contributing to the advancement of knowledge on a global scale.Students from the Tourism Marketing Management Program at the Indonesia University of Education have once again achieved a notable accomplishment on the international stage through the publication of a scientific article in a reputable Scopus Q2 journal.
